Tanisha Monique Martin was born in Jamaica Hospital on November 1st 1978 to Denise Taylor and Ronald Martin. She departed this life on December 16, 2017 in Long Island Jewish Katz Women’s Hospital. Her father Roland Martin preceded her in death. She had a twin that died seven months into her mother’s pregnancy whom was named Felisha.
Tanisha attended and graduated from Beach Channel High School later attending Heartshare Day program, enjoying the school bus ride there and being with her friends. She loved to look pretty in her favorite color of pink, and smelling good with her hair fixed nice adorned with ribbons, bows, & barrettes. She enjoyed going on strolls in her wheelchair. She liked listening to her favorite songs “See The little Teddy Bears “ & “Hello Tanisha How Are You Today” Tanisha loved teddy bears. She liked listening to music and watching cartoons her favorite being “Scooby Doo”.
Tanisha enjoyed being called by her nick-named Nisha & Momma and all the love, affection and attention she received from her parents Evangelist Denise and Deacon Dennis Taylor who she knew as Pop-Pop. She was the delight of her grandmother who she had a special bond the late Teresa Sutton.
Tanisha when able attended Praise Tabernacle Inc. enjoyed the preaching of Bishop Caesar R. Cabiness and the singing of the choir. She felt comforted and liked when her mother would rub and caress the sadness off her face and her Pop-Pop would talk to her .
Unable to speak her beautiful brown eyes lit up a room and reflected her emotions. It was delight being around her and she will be greatly missed.
Tanisha leaves to cherish her precious memory her parents Dennis & Denise Taylor, half-brother Christopher Martin, half-sister Latonya Martin, god-brother’s Jaden & Valdemere, god sister’s Rashawna & Doriana and a host of family members and friends.
