Obituary for Ronald LaPlante Sr.

Ronald  LaPlante Sr.
Ronald LaPlante Sr. was born born June 25, 1933 in Robertson, Missouri to Harold and
Hildred- Bedford LaPlante, who both preceded him in death. He was the youngest of six
children, three brothers Harold Jr., Harry, and Richard (who both preceded him in
death); and two sisters Vivian and Marian (who both preceded him in death).

He attended St. Peter Claver elementary school and St. Mary’s Catholic high school.
Ronald enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1952 to 1956, and was honorably
discharged. While in the military he married Thelma Marie Dockett on May 29, 1954.
They were married for 63 years before Thelma preceded him in death on December 10,
2017. During this union they raised three children, Ronald Jr., Kenneth, and Lisha.

He was employed by the New York City transit Authority where he worked as a track
man and crane operator until retirement. While working at Transit, Ronald participated
in the transit bowling league throughout his career. He enjoyed socializing with friends
and traveling extensively. He also was a masonic member.

Ronald LaPlante Sr. was called to be with the lord on Wednesday January 10, 2018 in
the early morning hours.

He leaves to cherish his memories two sons Ronald Jr. (Kim) and Kenneth (Sheila, like
a second daughter) and one daughter Lisha; six grandchildren Eric, Regina, and
Michael (Ronald (and Dorothy who preceded in death)), Shayna, Dana, and Deja
(Kenneth). Two great grandchildren Beckett (Regina) and Isaac (Eric); his oldest brother
Harold Jr. (Katherine) and a host of family and friends.

He will remain forever in our hearts.
