Katie affectionately known as “Buddha” was the seventh of eight children born on October 11, 1927 in Graham, North Carolina to the late Ed and Bessie Rogers.

Katie completed her education in Graham, North Carolina and moved to New York shortly after, where
is met and married the love of her life; William H. McDonald Sr. Katie and William were bless with
three wonderful children.

Katie was a member of the Washington Temple Church of God in Christ, located in Brooklyn, NY and
worked at Coney Island Hospital in the dietary department. While raising her children to be
respectful, successful adults, she enjoyed watching wresting and the soap operas on television.
Her heartwarming smile, was as warm as the many beautiful crocheted and knitted blankets and quilts
she hand crafted.

Katie’s beloved husband, William preceded her in death along with one grandson Jasiah, her siblings, Andy “AD”, Thomas, Leroy “Teet”, Adelle, and Hattie Mae.

Katie was called by the Lord to her heavenly home at the precious age of 90 o September 3, 2018.
She leaves to cherish her memory; two sons William and Thomas of NY; one daughter Ruth of GA; one
brother Bill of NC, one sister D Mae of NY; her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and host of
nieces, nephew cousins and friends.
