Obituary for Barbara A. Wilson

On Monday the 29th of October 2018, Barbara Wilson, age 55, was called home to our Lord and Savior.
Barbara was born Saturday 24th of November 1962 in Fairmont, NC, to parents John and Mary McCrae. Barbara was later moved to Brooklyn NY around the tender age of 10 with her family.
Barbara attended New York City College of Technology where she acquired her bachelor’s degree and later furthered her education at LaGuardia College.
Barbara’s passion led her to accept a position as AHRC in 1985 working with and for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. She worked as a residential manager for one of the largest not for profit organizations in the city of New York City area until she left on disability in 2008 after 23 years of service.
She married Monfree D Wilson on August 30, 1986 and of this union bore 3 children whom she treasured dearly. Barbara was a loving wife, mother, sister, daughter, grandmother, aunt, niece and a true friend to many.
Barbara Wilson is survived by her husband Monfree Wilson which she shared 32 years or marriage; their 3 children- sons Monfree D Wilson Jr of NY, Arthur Wilson (Chanta) of CO, and daughter Melanie Wilson of NY; 3 grandchildren Navia Wilson, Arthur Wilson, Jr, and Zacari Wilson; her mother Mary McCrae of Fairmont, NC; grandmother Annie May Flowers of Fairmont, NC; her 3 sisters Cynthia McCrae, Pamela Wilkins (Michael), Yvette McCrae all of Brooklyn NY, and 4 brothers Lonnie McCrae (Charlotte) of Smyrna DE, Shawn McCrae of Fairmont NC, Shelby McCrae (Carey) of Darlington SC and Vinson McCrae (Tashimer) of Brooklyn NY; mother- in- law Patty Wilson of Brooklyn NY, 1 brother- in- law Norris Wilson of Raleigh, NC; and 2 sister- in- laws, Shirrell Dallip of Brooklyn NY, and Margo Porter (Leo) of Covington, Ga. She is preceded in death by her father John Charles McCrae, sisters Patty Faye Evans, and Darlene Lynch.
She also leaves behind to cherish her memories a host aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, family and friends.
