Obituary for Deborah Ann Hill

Sunrise began for Deborah Ann (Williams) Hill on May 23,1956 in Queens NY. She was born to the late David Williams and the late Camilla (Williams) Chesterfield.

Deborah graduated from Long Island City High school in 1974. Following high school, she took some nursing classes at Queensborough Community College. Deborah worked at Astoria General Hospital as a CNA for her first job. She later entered her career as a Community Assistant with the department of Health and Human services for the City of New York where she worked for over 30 years.

She met and married Gregory Hill in 1976. In 1977, they were blessed with their only daughter, Terease Laschelle (Hill) Vialet. In 1982, Deborah gave birth to her only son Phillip Anthony Johnson with the late Phillip Johnson.

Deborah was a lover of life. She never met a stranger and her smile was contagious. Deborah had a personality that made everybody she met feel like they had been friends for years. Once you met Deborah no one ever forgot her. When she entered a room, you could feel her energy. Even her doctor described her as a “hurricane of fun”! Deborah was a no nonsense, tell it like it is person but she would follow it up with love. Deborah was loving, giving, loyal, and was the life of any party. She loved to laugh and have a good time. Deborah loved to eat out at Red Lobster, Lindenwood Diner, Applebee’s, and USA diner just to name a few. She would always talk about where she grew up which is Queensbridge (QB) 40 side of 10th street and 41st side of Vernon Blvd. Some words to describe Deborah are lovely, funny, diva, beautiful, quick witted, a lover of music and she loved to tell a story.

Deborah was also a protector and an advocate for the downtrodden. In 2012, she took that fierceness into her fight against breast cancer. Deborah was able to express love for her children, extended family, and friends through her laughter and her positive outlook on life even through her illness. Her faith in God never waived during her fight as she had accepted Christ as her savior many years ago. Surrounded by family, sunset for Deborah occurred on December 9, 2018.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory husband/friend Gregory Hill, daughter Terease Vialet (Dion), son Phillip Johnson (Stephanie), sisters Naomi (Williams) Jones (Jeff), Cheryl Chesterfield, aunts Felice Hannah, Ida Williams, seven grandchildren Tynashia, Tiera, Paris, Khloe, Chase, Jayce, and Phillip Jr, niece Jenae Askins (Derrick), nephews Jermaine, Jerell, Jonathan, goddaughter Tia Thomas, special friends, Traci Thomas, Diane Johnson, Ira (Fisher) Daley, Thomas Swan , Sharon Harper-Figueroa, Madrick (Ricky) Wallace and a host of family and friends.

“Don’t be sorry that her life is now over but be glad that she was in our lives.” Sleep well Deborah you will truly be missed. We love you❤️
